Malakai, Kalina, and Ava fenced at the Remenyik Regional circuit tournament last weekend near Chicago. In Junior Men’s Epee, Malakai went for the experience points, improved from bout to bout, and finished 52nd. In Junior Women’s Epee, Kalina finished 12th. On Sunday, Ava and Kalina fenced Division 1A. Ava tied for 37th, and Kalina ended 21st. Kalina was back a few hours later for Cadet Women’s Epee, where she earned the 5th place medal and a shiny replica dagger that she is fiercely protecting from her clubmates in the interest of their own safety.
