Two RDF fencers competed in Sioux City today. Jim won Mixed Epee and earned an “A” classification, and Sarah placed 8th in Mixed and won Women’s Epee. Both did a nice job executing some of the things we’ve been working on in practice lately in their various bouts throughout the day.

Kids ages 7-12: 1-3 pm
Adults and teens: 3-5 pm
Learn to Fence classes are a fun way to give fencing a try! Students will learn the basics of Olympic-style epee fencing and get to fence each other. All equipment is provided, but please wear athletic clothes, specifically pants and close-toed shoes.
Cost is $20 per person.
Please call or email us if you have any questions.

RDF was back in Kansas City again for Heartland Fencing Academy’s Fall Classic tournament, where Julia and Sarah fenced both epee events. In open mixed epee, Sarah ended up 3rd and Julia was 8th. Sarah won women’s epee and Julia took 3rd. Full results: https://askfred.net/Results/results.php?tournament_id=30523
We had one fencer travel to Kansas City this weekend for the Heartland Fencing Academy’s Regional Youth Circuit tournament, where she competed in Y12 and Y14 epee. Posy did a great job trying different strategies against unfamiliar fencers, never gave up, and learned a lot.
